Suggest Medication To Reduce Scar On Face

my girlfriend got into a fight approx 6 months ago she got a deep scratct on her nose from top to bottom .went to her doctor he prescribed some antibacterial ointment so it wouldn,t get infected.it healed pretty good after some scabbing.but every now and then it scabs or bubbles up like a soft scab .is this normal and can she take somthing to help reduce the appearance of the slight scar .she is 39 years old and i wonder if something like vitamin e or mederna might help
