Suggest Precautions For Cold And Ear Infection In Children

My son has been sick since Monday. I took him in Tuesday and they said he has a cold and starting to get an ear infection so they gave him some medicine and i have been giving him ibuprofen and tylenol for his fever. He hasn't ate or hardly drank anything. Do I need to take him back in?
