Suggest Proper Treatment For Chronic Diabetic Neuropathy

Hi my mom is 89 years old and has chronic diabetic neuropathy. Her doctor and internist, gives her 120 pills for 30 days. Some days she can stay with 3, other days she needs to take 5 or 6. This causes her to run out before her 30 days is up. Then she goes into withdrawal. I feel the doctor should give her more of hydrocodone. The withdrawal is going to kill her. Any ideas.
