Suggest Remedies For A Deep Cut On My Finger Causing Tightness

Last night I cut the underside of my middle knuckle on my pointer finger pretty bad with a boxcutter. It bled for quite awhile but finally clotted. It looks deep enough to need a stitch or two but everyone I talked to said they'd just put on a butterfly band-aid if I went to the ER. I kept it clean and covered overnight and this morning I can't bend my finger at that knuckle and when I put peroxide on it, it bubbled profusely, whereas last night it barely bubbled at all. It hasn't begun to close over yet and the entire finger still hurts. Would a trip to the ER be more than just a butterfly bandage at this point, or would it be best to just wait it out a bit longer?
