Suggest Remedies For Swelling Up Of Face And Hands After Exposure To Cold

hi, my name is joanne, i went to a sunbed 5 times in the last week and a half and since the 3rd time, when i go out into the cold, hold a cold object, put my hands in cold water, i swell up and it gets very itchy. Yesterday,however, i took a short brief walk outside in the cold that lasted no more than 5 minutes, and my hands, ears and face swelled up pretty bad.I went to see a pharmacist and he told me to take benedryl, he also said it was probably related to the fact that i was going to the sunbed while i had a cold. What can i do? is it due to the sunbed? will it get better? how long before this goes away, if it ever will? please help me as i am leaving for a trip in 1 and a half week and i am scared of this occurance i have.
