Suggest Remedies To Dissolve Stitches On The Head

I had plastic surgery on my head 3 years ago & had dissolvable stitches but they haven't dissolved & are popping out of my head & it's driving me crazy and I think they are infected. Is there any way to dissolve them without having another surgery? Is there a solution/gel/cream or something that will dissolve them?
