Suggest Remedy For Cough And Sinus Problem

My son is away at college so I can't help him directly. He has a deep cough and sinus symptoms. He does have some asthma issues in which he uses a Symbacort inhaler daily. I'm just wondering if there is something over-the-counter or in his apartment that could him find some relief for tonight (sleeping).
