I am a housewife and I not only suffer with fibromyalgia, migraines, IBS, numbness/tingling, and joint pain but I have been constantly coughing up phlegm for over a year now. My husband and I do not smoke. I Cough up sticky, and thick phlegm (sometimes its white, clear, multi or very dark in color), and I choke, gag and vomit to get the phlegm out. It also seems I am constantly clearing my throat. My symptoms aren't worse at any particular time of day. I almost always have a tissue at my mouth ready to go if I need to spit something out, but sometimes I need two or even four tissues to get it all. It can be stringy (very difficult to get up). Other times it is very liquid like and gushes to the front of my mouth (very easy to get up). A lot of times, it gets stuck between my throat and mouth, so I choke and gag on it until it comes up or until I vomit. Every morning (or whenever) I wake up, literally the first thing I have to do before I can do anything is cough up phlegm. I spit up phlegm throughout the entire day (after I brush my teeth, eat, drink, running errands, driving, watching a movie, etc..). The phlegm is always there! My husband is totally healthy (despite being a type 1 diabetic), he has never once been "sick" like this, and neither have our three sons. My body always hurts and I am so tired now. Its extremely difficult for me to do daily chores and activities. If you have any ideas or suggestions, I will greatly appreciate them! I am miserable and this such a disgusting ailment. Thanks!
