Suggest Remedy For Elevated Pulse Rate With History Of Irregular Heart Rhythm

My husband had heart surgery, repair a valve and bypass, in January. Had irregular heart and had shocked into rhythm a few weeks ago. Been short of breath recently. Oxygen level are sometimes low (80-85). Now pulse is reading 148. How high can the pulse go before we should go to the emergency room.
