Suggest Remedy For Erratic Periods

Im 20 and recently came off the birth control as I am trying to conceive.

I have been off the pill for several months and my periods have been erratic, lasting from 1week-3weeks and then bleeding after sex on some occasions. What could this be? Is it due to the pill? Will it affect me in the long term? Can I have children?
