Hello, and thank you in advance for your advice. I have been having chest and upper to mid back pain for over a month now. i have been to a pulmonary specialist, recently and he stated that He has ordered a sleep study but says everything else is normal.I am also dealing with chronic fatigue. I work overnight shift in a stressfull environmen and find I do not sleep enough, since I actually to not sleep as much as I used to, before all this started. I have times when I cough because I cannot draw a complete breath, when I eat and when I talk for more than about 15-20 minutes. I have had a cardiac cath becauuse they thought they saw something in the first ER visit, just a shadow, according to the Cardiologist. The second visit to the ER my PCP thought I had a PE and I had the thalium test done, no clots, according to that dr during that visit. The 3rd ER visit the ER doctor stated I may have pnemonia and bronchitis. I was given an antibiotic that was too strong for me and a cought syrup with coedine. As a replacement for the original antibiotic I waas precribed with something esle that seems to help for the phlem I was coughting up and the coughing. In returning to work, for now 3 weeks, I still have the constant tightness in the chest, incresing with the coughing and breathing out. I also have the back pain that never goes away and increases with the same. No one can seem to tell me what is going on and I am worried that I might have to have respiratory failure, which is what my gf recently died of, after her ER visit for what they thought was bronchitis. I am truly concerned about what is going on and yes, I am anxious about it. I do not know my next step. My physical health is not good. I am overweight about 50 pounds and have high blood pressure, caused by the pills I am taking daily for allergies. I also have arthritis and a bulging disc in my lower back. So, I know I need to loose weight, but I am somewhat afraid to try anything too strenous because I get out out breathe and tire very easily. During the initial visit to the ER I did have arm pain, neck and shoulder pain, as well as jaw pain. I am now still also feeling the upper right arm pain. I used to smoke quite a few years ago, but have stopped for more than two years. I did smoke again, for a bout a week, around supper bowl time, but have not since. I also have lost my appetite. I find I am forcing myself to eat most of the time because I have to take my medicine and remember I have not eaten all day. I get full verry fast, so I am not eating as much, which might be a good thing, but is also bothersome, when I do not know why. My cholesterol, is fine, I do not have diabetes. My father died of a heart attack when he was 60, but he also worked in a steel mill for most of his life and was exposed to asbestos. My mother fell down a flight of steps and hit her head and later died of PNA in the hospital. at the age of 55. I pologize if this message is sort of all over the place, but it was a spare of the moment thought to jump on the webisite and I am tyring to remember all of the things that could be helpful.
