Suggest Remedy For Irritation Caused By Rash Between The Buttocks

I have a thick rash type irritation between my buttocks. It is causing an unpleasant odor. It is not a red rash, it is thick and feels scaly. It seems to me to be more of a fungus type irritation. I have had it since last March after returning home from the hospital. What can I do to get rid of it?
