Suggest Remedy For Itching And Swelling From Tick Bite On Penis

My son had a tick on the shaft of his penis near the head. It looked like it hadn't been there long. I removed it with tweezers and got the head out. The spot itches and is swollen. I have treated it with itch and pain spray that I came home with after having a baby. he is also using an ice pack to keep from itching it. Other than it itching I'm not alarmed. I just want to know if I am handling things well enough here at home or if I should take him to his Dr.
