Suggest Remedy For Itchy Rash On Legs

Hi. I have Thrombosis from my vericose veins in my left ankle where the blood was pooling..... That being said I have pressure stockings to help with the symptoms but it is coming up on 5 years and It hurts like crazy!! i have been to the Dr. numerous times and when one of the blood clots made it's way up my leg to my thigh I went to emergency but no one is to terribly worried because it is in a surface vein.. but it still hurts like crazy!! Should I not be on blood thinners for this? I am on a list to have my veins stripped but have been on it for a few yearts now and am still waiting...and above the ankle on the same leg I have a huge red and dark purple rashlike thingy... I have had that for almost 2 yeasrs now and it doesn't seem to be healing, Which hurts when scratched but is itchy! Can anyone help???
