I woke up this morning at about 3am. My right arm felt ALMOST like it was asleep at some point, but as the morning and day wore on, the numbness of my skin and fingers didn't go away. I can lift my elbow, but my hand automatically falls into the wrist-up, hand down position and I can't even make a half fist with it. My thumb is especially numb, and all the way up right to my shoulder is slightly tingly occasionally but the skin is numb to the point to where I couldn't feel my nails being pressed into my arm when I did a little experiment to see how progressed it became. For a little while, it seemed to improve a little tiny bit, but now it seems worse than ever (especially the immobility of it). I picked up some Tylenol at a nearby pharmacy, and I couldn't sign my name for the pharmacist and I explained what happened. He looked me dead in the eyes and said urgently that I needed to go to the hospital. I told him my next doctor appointment is the seventh, and he said "No, you need to go as soon as possible. Now, even. You shouldn't be driving, just in case." I told him he was scaring me, and he said "Good! You should be scared!" I'm hoping to find out what may be going on and see if I can help it here at home before I go to the ER and wait for hours and hours.. I had a really bad migraine all day yesterday (which I have every so often as it is), and have Degenerative Disc Disease, if that info helps any.
