Suggest Remedy For Pain After Taking A Cortisone Injection

I just had a cortisone injection in my hip. That was 4 days ago and I am still experiencing major pain. I recently had bilateral knee replacements. When I started back at the gym, I thought I had a groin pull. The surgeon, during a follow up visit, sent me for pelvic xrays. I now need a hip replacement. I am 63 and I am not looking forward to another operation, but I cannot tolerate this much pain. What are the chances that the injection will not work. And is there anything else I can do. Oh, the doctor told me that if the freezing worked, which it did, worked then it was more likely that the cortsisone would.
