Suggest Remedy For Pain After Vaginal Hysterectomy

I had a vaginal hysterectomy on 12/17. Everything went extremely well until 4days later when I developed extreme pain. Long story short, I received a burn on my bladder during surgery that created a hole in my bladder that resulted in bladder repair surgery on Christmas Eve, a 6 day stay in the hospital and a Foley catheter that I still have until 2/5. Not to mention two follow up cystograms done in day surgery to check the healing progress. My question, is this a result of negligent procedure by my doctor? Is this common?
