Suggest Remedy For Pain And Warm Sensation On Forehead

My son leaned down and hit his head on a very hard wooden desk. It hit on the brow bone area. Its not very swollen but he immediately complained of a warming sensation on his eye and has pain when he lays down but not when he stands. I gave him an ice pack but don't know if I should be concerned about the symptoms and have hin seen by a doctor?
