Suggest Remedy For Pain Around Navel And Abdomen

I started having severe pain around my belly button and practically all over my abdomen Sunday night when I burp it felt better then it came back on just as strong. I hardly sleep that night. I also had a low grade fever.it continued on and off. Right now it just pain around my belly button. I was trying to see my doctor, but the nurse says that I should go to the ER so that I can get a CAT scan. what do you think?
