Suggest Remedy For Pain At Bottom Of Rib Cage

84-year-old father has severe pain in left side at bottom of rib cage, near waist, low grade fever (99°), dry heaves. Pain came on suddenly about 5 hours ago and is constant. No position is comfortable. He initially took a nitro pill, with no change. He just took 2 ibuprofin and his blood pressure medicine.
