Suggest Remedy For Pain In Buttock Crack

my dad had his prostate removed thursday morning and friday afternoon when he got up for the first time he complained of a pain at the top of his butt crack. Since then the pain has not gone away and he says it feels like a hard lump. they checked for blood clots and it came back clean. Any idea what it could be?
