Suggest Remedy For Pain Under The Rib Cage

I had a real sharp pains underneath my right rib cage that penetrated to my back today. It hurt to breathe or move. It lasted about 5 minutes. The pains kept coming and going. They went away but now that general area is sore. I do not have a gallbladder. Could this be kidney stones?
