Suggest Remedy For Persistent Shoulder Pain

Good morning. I am a 45y/o women dx with persistent right shoulder pain since Oct 2010. On MRI, i was dx with intense subchondral bone marrow pain. I have not responded to a cortisone shot and home therapy. My MD has ordered PT and motrin. Is there anything else I can do? Is this dx usually acute with not long term effects? I am afraid this will not resolve.
