Suggest Remedy For Purple Spots In The Toe

One of my staff has several 1 cm. purple spots on his toes from frostbite. This happened last week, and today there is a pin prick of black on one of the spots. He has an appointment with his doctor, but not until Friday. Should he seek immediate help or is this ok to wait?
