Suggest Remedy For Redness And Soreness Of Throat After Flu

I had the flu (chest mucous - starting out with sore throat) 10 days. Now I'm having runny nose, post nasal drip, I believe is allergies from very dry weather pattern in Calif-no rain. Iam left with redness of throat and soreness due to dryness-it's taking too long to leave me-possibly since my immune system was just taxed with the flu prior to this ongoing throat discomfort. HELP!! Slippery elm to help throat heal-it just needs ti heal in there!! Too slow!
