Suggest Remedy For Sciatic Pain When Suffering From Central Disc Extrusion

I have a broad based central disc extrusion at the l4 l5 disc. I have seen a neurosurgeon who advised me that the disc was herniated to and pushing to the left. I am having sciatic pain mostly on the right side and he said that it shouldn t affect that side. I am confused, If it s central isn t it possible to affect both sides? I am scheduled to have surgery soon but I am really wanting this to be a success and end this awful pain.
