Suggest Remedy For Severe Itching In Vagina

Went to my OB today and she told me I might have Lichen sclerosis. She would not give me anything for the really bad itching I have until I have the biopsy done. My biopsy will be done on Nov. 22nd. I have really bad itching and cannot get any sleep. Is there something I can take or use over the counter until my biopsy? Also how is this biopsy done? Will it hurt?
