Suggest Remedy For Severe Pain In The Left Ear

I have a nagging ear pain in my left ear that goes on and off. I have seen several doctors before, and they have advised me to not get water in it, to not insert cotton swabs deep into the ear, etc. I fear that this may have been a result of my frequent weekly air travels (2-3 week) for a period of two years which might have aggravated this. But the pain has not subsided.

When I tilt my head from side to side, sometimes, I actually feel there to be a liquid in my ear. What do I do?
