Suggest Remedy For Severe Throat Pain

Dear Doctor, I have a terrible pain in my throat (gorge) it's been 3 weeks now. I have consulted a pharmacist who described me BRUFEN 400 as medicine but till now I didn't obtain any result and still I feel that terrible pain (without fever, no flu) just pain. I am thinking now about taking Augmentin!! Is it good? please help me by describing me a good medicine for me (no calming or tranquilizing medicine please).
