Suggest Remedy For Shingles

Re: Shingles. At one time, if you broke out with Shingles you were advised to get a shot of ??? to suppress the disease so the rash wouldn't get so bad, etc. Do you know about this as my doctor hasn't. Both my husband and mother were given the shot in a hospital ER.
