Suggest Remedy For Skin Discolouration Of A Hypertrophic Scar

Hello. I have a hypertrophic scar from when I had a mold removed about 4 or 5 years ago. Last year, I had a cortisone injection in it to help it flatten a little, although it is still bright pink. The other day, I noticed that there is an area of "normal" skin extending from the scar that has changed pigment and is a whitish color speckled with pink. It's hard to describe, but it looks as if the scar were filled with fluid (just to help describe this) and some of it "leaked out," affecting some surrounding skin. The actual scar has also changed shape. It once was circular, but now, the part of the scar where it looks like the skin discoloration is coming from is indented (this is the best way I can think to describe it), thus further contributing to the "leaked-out" appearance. Can you please help me decide if I spend the money to see a dermatologist? Thank you!
