Suggest Remedy For Skin Problem Around Mouth

I went to the derm for a rash around my mouth she gave me some steroidal ointments for it thinking it was contact dermatitis. i did some research on my own and found that what i believed was a toothpaste allergy. i changed toothpastes and it cleared it up. its about 1 -2 months later and i went to the tanning bed and now i have a white ring around my mouth where i was putting the ointment. i am a little apprehensive to go back to the derm since i was being treated for something i didnt have, but dont know what else to do. please help me.
