Suggest Remedy For Small Bump On The Right Side Of Neck

I have a small bump on the right side of my neck, almost directly across from my ear. The bump is painless and I noticed it last night. My sister who is a nurse said that it is superficial and didn't feel like anything that could be serious. She seems to think that it is a gland. It is about the size of a pea and I can feel it under my skin. Should i be worried?
