Suggest Remedy For Sore Throat And Difficulty In Swallowing

I started having a sore throat, a little difficulty swallowing, burning sensation in throat. I also noticed a growth next to my tonsil area about the size of a pencil eraser. Sometimes it feels like the back of my tongue is sore at times.Any advice would be welcome. I also know my physician is currently out of his office till Nov. 15th. Should I wait or request to see a nurse practiioner
