Suggest Remedy For Sores On Ear With Discharge

We had my nine year old daughters ears pierced in December. We have been cleaning them and twisting the earrings as instructed. This morning her left ear was sore and there was a little milky discharge. I removed the earring and cleaned the area thoroughly with peroxide. Is there anything else I should do? Should I keep the earring out?
