Suggest Remedy For Swelling In Lymph Nodes And Face

My friend picks her lips and she thinks she's got an infection....her symptons include: swollen glands,swollen face,and she's telling me now its painful to the touch and appears purpley red....she says she's going to the doc in the morning....is there anything I can tell her she can do in the meantime for comfort or to safeguard herself...??
