Suggest Remedy For Swelling In Upper Lip

My husband took ibu 600mg last night @0900 before bed. He awoken in the night with partial upper lip swelling. Took Benadryl 25mg and went back to sleep. At 3:30 am awoke and now upper lip completely swollen, but not lower. No throat or tongue constriction. Called pharmacist, she said ok to repeat Benadryl but now took 50 mg. we are trying to avoid trip to ER. Any thing else we can do/ also ice applied.
