Suggest Remedy For Swollen Finger And Ripped Cuticle

Hi doctor, I recently awoke to find the root of my middle finger slightly swollen with the cuticle ripped and slightly bloody. When i press down on the swollen area, I can feel the nail underneath move down as though it is lifted up. I have done research and I m not sure if it s a broken root, or something more serious. When I researched symptoms of a broken root, it said there would be a dark area below the cuticle, but with mine, there is just slight pink swelling and is tender to the touch. Should I be worried? I don t have much experience with injured nails so I don t know what to think. Thanks, Val
