Suggest Remedy For The Ridged Nail With Dryness In Cuticle

I have one finger where the nail is extremely ridged vertically and very thick, and the cuticle is dry, thick, and detached from the nail. It has been this way since I was a little kid, and I'm eighteen now. Is it something I should be concerned about? It's just the one finger.
