Suggest Remedy For Thin Hair

Hi there. I got micro ring extensions about 6 months ago (where the individual hair pieces are clipped to the root by a metal ring) and had them taken out last week. My hair is now really thin and looks so bad. I now know extensions were not worth it. Will my normally medium thick hair ever grow back? I feel so low about it.
