Suggest Remedy For Vaginal Itching

I'm 31 weeks pregnant and have vaginal itching, I have had this before along with swollen and quite painful virgina, my mid wife said this was normal but today the itching I cannot sleep please let me know what I can use? Would vagisil cream help? Also for the last week I go to bed and really cannot sleep I must be getting 3-4 hours a night and am now very frustrated!!!
