Suggest Remedy For Viral Rashes

hi. my 10 month old baby has been to our doctors 4 times in the last week. he is covered in a rash which our doctor has said is a viral rash. my question is does the rash have to spread more and get worse to get better? he is on antibiotics. he has a sore throat, swollen glands and suspected ear infection.
