Suggest Remedy For Water Retention

Can water retention make me look a lot bigger than I usually am? I was supposed to get my period yesterday, I just got off of Birth Control, so I'm guessing it will be late since I had 2 periods 4 days apart. The water retention won't go away and it's making me feel very big. How do I get rid of this and when do you think it will go away?
