Suggest Remedy For White Patches On Back And Red Spots On Calf

I've randomly got two small red scaly spots (the size of an eraser on the end of a pencil) on the back/upper part of my calf. I went to the dermatologist and she wasn't quite sure as to what it was and perscribed me two creams (Fluocinolone Acetonide Cream-.025% and Selenium Sulfide-2.25%) because, I also have a series of white patches on my back which she said was common. My questions are: What cream do i use for what? and will my white patches and mysterious red spots ever go away?
Ps. I don't have any symptoms.
