Suggest Remedy To Deal With Eustachian Tube Dysfunction

I was diagnosed with Eustachian Tube Dysfuncton in mid November. I saw the doctor again in mid December because I still had symptoms, but they were less severe. I took Sudafed and used a nasal spray called Azelastine and that helped for a while. I also consulted a doctor of osteopath and have had two manipulative treatments and that has actually helped the most. He also prescribed a natural antihistamine in capsule form. I can go a couple of days and feel like it's much better and then have a bad day or two. Is this characteristic of this dysfunction? My first doctor (family doctor) said these take a long time to go away and I find it very annoying and frustrating. Can you give me any further explanations or words of comfort as I deal with this?
