Suggest Tests To Confirm The Diagnosis Of Chronic Bronchitis

20 Years ago I was told i had cronic bronchitis. was the first time I had ever had bronchitis and I am 58 years old and only smoked for two years stopping when I was 18.I caught pneumonia about 3 years ago. those are the only lung related issues I have ever had barring a few colds which never went to my lungs. my question is how did the Dr determine I had cronic Bronchitis.
