Suggest The Dosage Of Amox Tr-k

I went to doctor today and was prescribed amox tr-k clav er 1,000-62.5 mg. After I got home and looked at the directions, they say to take 2 tablets by mouth every 12 hours. Is this the normal dosage or could it be a mistake? I've never had an antibiotic before that I had to take 2 pills at a time.
