Suggest Treatment For A Itchy Spot On The Scrotum

I came across a spot on my scrotum the other day that itched. I scratched it for a couple of days and then one day scratching it began to hurt just a little but not much. I finally got out a mirror to see what it was and it looked like a little cut or a split of the skin. As long as I don't itch it, it doesn't hurt at all, just itches slightly. When the skin is loose it looks a little swollen and you can see a pink gash about a half an inch long. Any idea as to what this is. I first noticed it a couple of days ago.
