Suggest Treatment For A Lump On The Scortum

I have a swelling (lump) in my right scrotum, under the testicle. It is not sensitive and I have no other symptoms. I have an appointment to see a doctor (GP) on the 19th of this month. Shall I ask for a referral before the 19th to see a urologist? I am afraid that waiting for the GP appointment is losing valuable time, in case it needs to be medicated/operated on. I am a firm believer in tending to symptoms as soon as they appear.
