Suggest Treatment For A Ringworm On The Legs

I think I have a ringworm on my upper leg area. The area has a red ring and is itchy. The problem is I don't want to tell my mom, though I heard it takes a while to heal on its own. I am also starting school soon so even if I wear jeans will this affect me going to school? And what sort of cream should i get if I do in fact tell my mom. How long does it take to heal WITH cream and should I see a doctor.
